    Cellular Respiration

Breaking down glucose to make ATP,
In the stages of Glycolysis, the Krebs’s cycle,
    And me.

    Now glycolysis is the process,
Of breaking down glucose, into Pyruvic Acid,
    And that ain’t no joke.
    Two ATP are needed,
    and four are produced,
To make the acid that the Krebs cycle will use.

    Cellular Respiration, Cellular Respiration,
    Cellular Respiration, Cellular Respiration.

The Kreb’s cycle begins with Acetyl Coenzyme A,
A modified version of the P.A. (Pyruvic Acid)
The Kreb’s cycle is gonna try and break it right down,
But it’s not over yet and I’ll tell you how.

    Cellular Respiration, Cellular Respiration,
    Cellular Respiration, Cellular Respiration.

Now I’m the electron transport chain, AKA the ETC,
I take electrons from point A to point B,
Now if you’re an excited electron with a plate to be
I’ll tell you right now you gotta come see me.

Hope on in and I’ll take you for a ride,
Because I’m made of proteins you’ll be safe in side.

Now because you’re so excited, you’re giving off energy,
Which will be used later to make more ATP.
Now here’s you’re final stop, an oxygen atom,
And now my over excited friend our time is done.

    Cellular Respiration, Cellular Respiration,
    Cellular Respiration, Cellular Respiration.

    Cause this is my explanation,
    of cellular respiration.

  2. Cellular Respiration- The three stages
    Krystal Durkin
    Sandie Batres

Cellular respiration has three stages: glycolysis, citric acid, electron transport chain.
I think it might need to have some rain
To start the functions of this game.

    Glycolysis occurs in the cytoplasm,
Its anaerobic, and it gets broken down into two molecules of pyruvic acid
In the end 4 ATP are produced, but the net gain is only 2!

Cellular respiration has three stages: glycolysis, citric acid, electron transport chain.
I think it might need to have some rain
To start the functions of this game.

Citric acid occurs in the mitochondria.
Modified molecules are called acetyl conenzymea, which forms ATP and Co2 .
    Yes! It is very true!

Cellular respiration has three stages: glycolysis, citric acid, electron transport chain.
I think it might need to have some rain
To start the functions of this game

The final stage of cellular respiration, electron transport chain…
Electrons are passed from protein to protein and the engery is used for ATP
And the final electron acceptor is an oxygen atom!!!

  3. Photosynthesis is an amazing thing
So we wrote a song to sing
    Many reactions occur
Light dependent are one of the two

It occurs in the thylakoid membrane
    On the electron transport chain
    This chain is insane
In which electrons lose their energy
    Extra electrons are important
But they won't come in use till later

The second reaction is known as Light dependent
    It occurs in the stroma
    It produces simple sugars
    From CO2 and Hydrogen
    Named after Melvin Calvin
    Its main reactant is CO2
    It produces Glucose
    But were does it go
    Plants have a vascular system
    Just like us
Instead of blood, their veins carry water

    Lately it just seems
Like we’ve got the letters ATP
    Branded into our mentality

    But soon Adenosine Triphosphate
    Will finally cross its fate
And ADP will enter the gate

NADP+ and H+ are like brothers
The ones who don’t like each other
And take much energy to bond to-gether

Life and chloroplasts are like roller coasters
And the electrons are crazy like toasters
And light roasts the photosystem like a roaster

    On the electron transport chain
The energy goes down the drain
Then like a coaster energy gets regained

Photosynthesis is the way it goes
    It can defeat all foes
    Including all the average Joes

    Without this course of action
    Not even a fraction
    Would survive through the reaction

    Your faces will change
    To colors that are strange
    Since the plants can’t exchange

    On the electron transport chain
The energy goes down the drain
Then like a coaster energy gets regained

    Light the main source

    Sunlight hit the photosystem ll
Then the electrons said who hoo!
Then it was time to go down the ETC
the electrons released a lot of energy.

    Chorus
These reactions happen in the Thylakoid membrane.
Then go down the electron transport chain.
Their dependent because they need light
Knowing this stuff makes me feel so bright.

    Light dependent reactions occur
They use water, ADP, and NADP+.
The product is oxygen, ATP, and NADPH
The energy is used but the oxygen is waste.

    Chorus
These reactions happen in the Thylakoid membrane.
Then go down the electron transport chain.
Their dependent because they need light
Knowing this stuff makes me feel so bright.

H+ will soon leave this place
    Through an ATP synthase.
Enzymes are proteins that end in -ase-
Were almost done with our song
it only has to be one minute long.

    Chorus
These reactions happen in the Thylakoid membrane.
Then go down the electron transport chain.
Their dependent because they need light
Knowing this stuff makes me feel so bright.

    Intro
    Deep inside the stroma
    Within the green murky chloroplast
Melvin Calvin has left his mark

    Chorus
    Melvin Calvin found this loop
    Where glucose flies the coop
    Where CO2 makes energy
    Which is also called ATP!

    Verse 1
    When CO2 makes is trip
Where a phosphate will be ripped
    From an on coming ATP
    Turning that “T” into a “D”

    Verse 2
    Unaltered, unmoving, the CO2 collides
With a family of letters on an energy high
    Turning NADPH into NADP+
Leaving their friend Hydrogen in the dust

    Verse 3
    Then Hydrogen married CO2
    And NADP+ had no clue
    And together they produced
Sugar which gives a great boost

    "This Little Thylakoid of Mine"

    This little thylakoid of mine
    I’m going use my pigments
I’m going to chlorophyll to trap the sunlight in

    The electrons in the chlorophyll
    Are dancin’ up and down
For the sunlight is shining in
Shining in, shining in, shining innnnn.

    Electron transport chain
    Are strings of proteins
    Transporting electrons while loosing energy
With every single pass, more ATP is made!

Now were going to the Cal- Calvin cycle (Cal- Calvin cycle)
This is where the glucose is made
The CO2 come come comes in
Then the ATP joins the cycle, joins joins the cycle.

And then it comes out as ADP. ADP A-D-P!
Then your final product is glucose, glue glue glucose!
    Which is C6H12O6

  9. Photosynthesis?
    Photosynthesis?
    What’s PHOTOSYTHESIS?
Photosynthesis is how the plants get energy whip pee energy!
    Photosynthesis has to different rations..
One is called light - dependent reaction.
Light dependent reaction starts in the thylakoids and thylakoids use their pigments CHLORPHLY to trap the sun light,
Which excites the electrons and goes on a electron transport chain which are connected strings of protein.
On the electron transport chain the electrons lose energy and that makes ATP.
The extra electrons that are left are used to help the second reaction.
The second reaction is the light- independent reaction.
Light dependent reaction does not use light,
It occurs in the stoma which goes in the Calvin cycle who was named after Melvin Calvin!
And after going through that you gout glucose!
Which the plants have instead of blood.
Phloem is what carries the glucose from leaves to plant.
And Xylem are cells the carry water from roots to plant leaves.
Now if you like math then you'll want to know the formula 6CO2 +6H2O -> C6 H12 O6+6O2= GLOUCLOSE!!!!
And put it all together that’s how it goes!
    Prince A.

    and Adenine

    6CO2 + 6H2O Light Energy
    C6H12O6 + 6O2
And the rest is up to you.

    Photosynthesis
    Uses the Sun's Energy
Just to make oxygen for you and me.

    6CO2 + 6H2O Light Energy
    C6H12O6 + 6O2
And the rest is up to you.

    Take in CO2
And Converts it through and through.

    6CO2 + 6H2O Light Energy
    C6H12O6 + 6O2
And the rest is up to you.

  11. How

Have you ever wondered why a plant blooms
    Why the leaves are green
    Why the sky is blue
Have you ever wondered how plants grow like they do

They don’t eat like we do
They have an organelle that allows them to make their food
Its called the chloroplast and heres what they do
They take in the sunlight and CO2
The H2O splits and becomes O2

Have you ever wondered why a plant blooms
    Why the leaves are green
    Why the sky is blue
Have you ever wondered how plants grow like they do

The plants are green because of the organelle being filled
    By chlorophyll
The chloroplast is in the leaves or the palisade mesophyll
The thylakoid traps the light and draws it in
Then takes it to photo system two
The electrons are happy so they take it through the cycle

Have you ever wondered why a plant blooms
    Why the leaves are green
    Why the sky is blue
Have you ever wondered how plants grow like they do

After all of this there is a little thing called A TP
    This is the food
All it takes is bit of light, time, and energy

Commonly called the Calvin Cycle, we love it the most
Uses CO2, Hydrogen, and it does it again
Does it's round, happiness abounds, cause it's a light independent reaction

    Photosynthesis

We were both young when I first saw you
    I close my eyes
    And the flashback starts
    I'm standing there
In my chair in miss nifongs class

    See the power point,
    See you absorbing the sunlight,
I see you make your your food so you survive
    i say hello
    Little did I know

That you were Photosynthesis you were feeding the plant
And miss nifong said thats how they get their energy
    And I was wondering,
how do you do that and miss nifong said:

Class this is Photosynthesis and you will need to know this
I was excited and and couldnt stop smiling
You help the plant and i'll sit and watch
It's Photosythesis baby just say yes

So I sneak out to the garden to see you
I keep quiet cause I dead if they know
So Hurry up you need to start you reactions

Cause you started doing light depndent
And my daddy said stay away from the plants
But you were everything i dreamed
I was begging you use your chloryll and I said:

Plant hurry up you need to start exciting your electrons
I'llbe waiting so they can get on the electrons transport chain
then you'll lose energy and make some ATP
Then at the end you have extra electronies

NOw you you need to use you Light Independent
This thing is difficult but it is real
    Don't be afraid
We'll make it out of this mess
you can start the Calvin Cycle,

    I got tired of waiting
Wondering if you were ever gonna let you CO2 out
My faith in you was fading
When I saw you later produce glucose

Photosythesis save me I've been feeling so alone
I keep waiting for miss nifong to review the notea
Is this in my head, I don't know what to think
i think im going crazy my brain is slowing strinking
    And said:

Hope i covered everything thats supposed to be in the song and i hope i get a good grade this..this is a song and and hope and wish. i get an A.
    Oh, oh, oh

    Chorus:
Breaking down glucose to make ATP
    Glycolysis, Kreb's Cycle, and ETC
Using oxygen for work or not
    Cellular respiration happens alot

    Verse 1:
In the cytoplasm of the cell,
    Glycolysis breaks glucose down
To Pyruvic acid, a three carbon compoud
    Although using two ATP
Glycolysis produces four for you and me

    Chorus
    Verse 2:
    Occuring in the mitochondria
    after pyruvic acid's modified
Acetyl Coenzyme A form ATP, as well as Co2
    Aerobic makes the most ATP
While using oxygen that we need

    Chorus

    Verse 3:
    Riding on the ETC
From Protien to Protien losing energy
Producing up to 34 Adenosine Triphosphate
Finally accepted by an oxygen atom

    Photosynthesis

    Light I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T
    Calvin C-Y-C-L-E-

The Light D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T to make ATP

Free phosphates and adenosine are needed for the recycling of energy

The thylacoids use their pigments to trap sunlight in photosynthesis

6CO2 and 6H2O yield yield light energy
You got Glucose with 6 O’s
    Its called photo synthesis

    Where does glucose go?
Plants have a vascular system like we do
Instead of blood, their veins carry water and food
The cells form tubes like the food flow
    And the H 2 O flow.

Its like a rollercoaster you go up with energy
and down the electronic transport chain that
    is made of proteins

Light- independent is the Calvin Cycle
Where simple sugars are produced from CO2 and Hydrogen

  16. I’m a little granum
    Tall and green
Here is my thylakoid where oxygen is made
When I get all charged up my electrons excite
Then down the electron transport chain to the photosystem 1

Go Go up, be excited too
Because NADP (plus) is about to be complete
NADPH is high energy, next is ATP snythase where is even more energy.
Out comes ADP witch needs one more phosphate to complete the cycle of Melvin Calvin.

This is the story about co2 and how it needs to energy to make glucose
And I liked to take a min. and just sit right here
And tell how Melvin became the prince of Calvin cycle

In green stroma where I spent most of my days
    Cycle-in around with co2
    And shooting some ATP hoops
When a couple of rays who were up to no good
    Start-in trouble in my chloroplast
Got into one little ray and didn’t like so much
So that’s when my nucleus said your move-in back to your dependent reaction

The aerobic paves a way for you to breath which gives you the most energy
It all happens when you run jump and strut
Going on a roller coaster swooshing down loosing energy gives you a frown
